In May 2019, MicroBt launched their well known Whatsminer M20 series. Whatsminer is the flagship of MicroBt's Bitcoin mining operations. It is an ASIC Plug & Play Bitcoin Mining hardware design sold by MicroBt. It mines Bitcoin(BTC) or Bitcoin Cash(BCH) immediately and helps miners jump into the new digital currency rush.
They were the ultimate win-win, successful reproduction of the earlier models, the Whatsminer M10 series. The products consisted of the M20, M21, M21b, M20s, and M21s, all adopting Samsung 8nm chip, and releasing MicroBt’s new logo, which has more features and is more characteristic.
Founded in 2016, Shenzhen Bit Microelectronics Technology (Also Known as MicroBt) is one of the leading Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) producers. The company is into the production and design of high-end 28nm/16nm/7nm working chips and provides developments/assistance in fields such as blockchain technology, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence.
Like its successor, Whatsminer M21s, Whatsminer M21 comes with an integrated design with a long power supply unit and smaller size. The hash board was designed identically like that of Whatsminer M21s to buy the dashboard separately to couple it with M21 components.
The hash rate of the Whatsminer M21 is 31T, which gives it an edge over the M10 model, and the physical size is 155 x 240 x 440mm with a weight of 7.1kg. This is great as it makes the device easy on the eye and less bulky to handle.
The M21 comes with a P5-12-2200-V1 power supply to produce an output of DC 12.8V 172A, and the 10A socket in the mining farm works well.
The power supply comes with an aluminum rack, which protects the wires on the connector side. It is used as a handle for ease of usage.
This miner works with a power efficiency of 0.06j/Gh, and it has two 12038 cooling fans, one for blowing air and one for release of air, and the fan power is 12V 2.8A, just like its older model.
The board is an Ethernet interface, TF card slot, IP button, reset button, and status indicator on the control. But the most impressive is the fact that the MAC address is attached to the control board for convenience when looking for the device's IP address. This feature aligns with Whatsminer’s pledge to produce miners that are easy to use for everyone.
The Whatsminer M21 mines with the SHA-256 algorithm can produce up to 40 coins, but the top coins are Bitcoin(BTC) and Bitcoin Cash(BCH). With an average hash rate of 56Th/s, it uses 3360W of power.
This device's noise about one meter away is 75dB, which is pretty normal, as most miners have a noise level of 60-80dB. To better understand this, a noise level of 75 dB is equivalent to a vacuum cleaner's noise emission. The Whatsminer M21s can be used for mining at home as the noise level is optimal, but mining farms are more suitable. The noise is normal as a result of the two fans set for cooling.
Profitability and Return Of Investment are important criteria when choosing miners to buy. The Whatsminer M21 will profit depending on electricity rates and costs in each specific area and other market conditions. When the market favors this coin, users get high profitability.
MicroBt offers a reparation service for any ASIC Bitcoin Miners you bought from them that stopped working. You have to contact email support and open a ticket for their tech team to locate the order.
